Safaricom Ethiopia announces massive job recruitment exercise

Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC has announced thousands of job vacancies that are open for application. Through a statement sent to the public on 3rd September through a media conference, Mr. Peter Ndegwa the Chief Executive officer of safaricom conveyed the shareholders’ commitment to investing in Ethiopia and contributing to the achievement of the digital Ethiopia objective.

Announcing the job opportunities at Safaricom Ethiopia Mr, Anwar Soussa, managing Director of Safaricom Ethiopia stated that the company plans to recruit a team of 1000 employees by June 2022 to lead and drive the company’s innovative and digital solutions.

“Our ongoing recruitment process is intentionally guided by the promise of a digital future for the people of Ethiopia. By June next year, we aim to build a team of 1000 employees driven by innovation and digital solutions” Mr Anwar stated.

Apart from the 1000 job opportunities, Safaricom Ethiopia further more plans to recruit over 450 graduates over the next three years into a global development program dubbed the “Discover Graduate management program”

The graduates will undergo accredited learning rotations across different functions in the business as well as extensive leadership coaching and mentorship programmes.

As part of the ongoing recruitment process, the company officially introduced the 11 confirmed members of its Executive Committee.

This announcement comes months after Safaricom successfully acquired the necessary accreditations and approvals to expand its services to the horn of Africa nation.
