Human Rights Activist Kipkorir Ngetich Sounds Alarm Over Political Tensions in Kenya

Eldoret-based human rights activist, Kipkorir Ngetich, has expressed deep concern over the growing political tensions in the country, particularly the actions of former Deputy President William Ruto. In a bold statement issued to the press, Ngetich warned that if the current government does not act decisively, the political maneuvers by some leaders could lead Kenya into a period of instability and unrest.
Ngetich’s remarks were aimed at former Deputy President, now a key political figure in the opposition, whom he accused of using divisive politics to manipulate communities and incite hatred between different ethnic groups. According to Ngetich, the former Deputy President’s recent political moves could undermine President William Ruto’s government and hinder the realization of his development agenda.
“Kenya is a country built on unity and progress, but the actions of some leaders are sowing division and hatred,” Ngetich said. “The former Deputy President is stirring dangerous political waters by inflaming tensions between communities, particularly in the Mount Kenya region. His rhetoric is not only destabilizing but also threatens national cohesion.”
Ngetich, who has long been a vocal advocate for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, pointed out that the former Deputy President’s history within the Kanu regime and his use of tribal politics should raise alarm bells for the government and the Kenyan public. He described the former leader as a “dangerous figure” who is now trying to position himself as a champion of democracy while playing dangerous political games.
“The former Deputy President has reinvented himself as a supposed advocate for good governance, but this is nothing but a facade,” Ngetich declared. “He has always been aligned with the forces of political repression, and now, he is using the guise of youth empowerment and democracy to push a dangerous agenda that could lead the country into chaos.”
The human rights activist also accused the former Deputy President of manipulating the youth by exploiting issues like unemployment and marginalization for political gain. Ngetich emphasized that these young people are vulnerable and could be easily manipulated for political purposes, leading to violence and social unrest.
“Unemployment and disillusionment among the youth are real challenges, but they should not be used as tools for political manipulation,” Ngetich explained. “We cannot allow leaders to exploit these issues to create chaos and division for their own benefit. The youth must be protected from such exploitation.”
In his statement, Ngetich also warned the government that certain elements within the security sector may be aligned with the former Deputy President, enabling him to gather information and resources to further his political agenda. He urged the government to strengthen its intelligence networks and act swiftly to prevent any attempts to destabilize the nation.
“National security is paramount, and we cannot afford to allow anyone to infiltrate the government and use state resources for personal political gain,” Ngetich stated. “The government must take immediate steps to ensure that such dangerous elements are neutralized before they can cause irreparable harm to Kenya’s peace and stability.”
Furthermore, Ngetich raised concerns about the former Deputy President’s attempts to sow discord within the Kikuyu community, particularly in central Kenya, where he has allegedly been stirring tensions between local leaders and the government. According to Ngetich, these efforts could isolate President Ruto from his political base, further fragmenting the nation’s unity.
“Unity is the foundation of any nation, and Kenya cannot afford to be divided along tribal lines,” Ngetich emphasized. “The former Deputy President is attempting to manipulate ethnic politics to create division, and if the government does not act quickly, we could see the country descend into chaos.”
In his conclusion, Ngetich called on all Kenyans to remain vigilant and reject divisive politics, emphasizing that the future of the country depends on unity, peaceful coexistence, and responsible leadership. He urged President Ruto to work closely with patriotic civil society organizations and other stakeholders committed to peace, democracy, and good governance to safeguard Kenya’s future.
“Leadership is not about personal ambition; it is about serving the people and ensuring that the nation remains united and peaceful,” Ngetich said. “It is time for all of us to put Kenya first and reject any political figures who seek to tear our country apart for their own personal gain.”
The warning from Ngetich comes as Kenya continues to grapple with political and economic challenges, with rising concerns over unemployment, insecurity, and the impact of political instability on the country’s future. As the nation looks toward the future, the call for responsible leadership and national unity remains critical in safeguarding Kenya’s peace and prosperity.  Read More

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki Makes First Public Appearance After Period of Silence

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki made his highly anticipated first public appearance today after a period of relative silence that left many wondering about his whereabouts and the status of his role in government. The Deputy President was in attendance at the wedding ceremony of Peter Miano and his bride Wambui, hosted by Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Rebecca Miano.

During his remarks at the ceremony, Kindiki took the opportunity to address the nation indirectly, speaking on the importance of both economic and social development in nation-building. “As we aspire to build strong families and a better nation, we must pursue both the hardware—like roads, electricity, and internet connectivity—and the software of positive social values and stronger communities,” he said.
