Kenya Power explians why there is a delay in receiving tokens purchased
If you have been experiencing delays after purchasing tokens from Kenya Power, then you are not alone.
Kenya power has explained why there is a delay in receiving tokens after making a purchase.
In many instances customers are forced to wait for hours and sometimes for over a day just before they can receive their purchased power tokens.
This has caused inconviniences among Kenyans and many have complained over the delay issue. The situation has worsened and if you pirchased your tockens on Friday 2nd or Saturday 3rd, then you may have to wait much longer to receive your tokens.
In a statement issued by Kenya Power on Saturday, the utility firm has explained that the delays experienced in tokens generation is as a result of a technical hitch.
“To our esteemed customers, we are working to resolve a technical hitch that is causing a delay in token vending.
“Once normalcy returns, we will issue an update and send the tokens. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. The process is ongoing and we, therefore, request patience,” stated Kenya Power.
The electricity provider added that complaints about the generation of tokens affected all buyers, from those using mobile transaction money, banks, agents and apps.
Kenya power has advised clients experiencing delay to check for the tokens purchased by dialing short USSD code *977# or use the Kenya Power mobile app.
The service is both available for both prepaid and post paid customers.
In an attempt to keep up with high numbers of complainants, the power utility farm has been relaying on social media platforms to keep up with the high number of customers who have been calling the customer care desk.
