Marriage Coach Benjamin Zulu Warns Youth: “Dating Carelessly Can Steal Your Destiny

Renowned marriage coach and relationship expert, Benjamin Zulu, has issued a powerful and thought-provoking warning to young people, emphasizing the potentially life-altering consequences of engaging in careless relationships and dating without understanding the deeper emotional and psychological impacts.
In a compelling statement, Zulu shared insights into the often-overlooked realities of youthful dating, urging teenagers and young adults to reevaluate their attitudes towards love, relationships, and sex. According to him, many young people believe they are simply exploring their romantic desires, unaware that their actions could have irreversible consequences on their futures.
“Young people think they’re just having fun, exploring love, or following their chemistry. They don’t realize they’re making choices that could be a point of no return. What starts as fun can quickly become a trap, leading them into a lifetime of regret, emotional scars, and even physical damage,” Zulu said.
Zulu went on to explain that while young individuals are caught up in the thrill of romance and adventure, they often fail to consider the long-term implications of their actions. “When you’re 24, the world seems like it’s your playground. You have little interest in wisdom or knowledge. You’re convinced that your decisions are yours to make, and that you’ll learn from experience. But by the time you’re 42, you may have already closed doors to opportunities, made permanent life-altering decisions, and now be left to pick up the pieces,” he continued.
He warned of the dangers of prematurely engaging in intimate relationships, including the risk of chronic infections, emotional damage, and the potential devastation of making life decisions such as marriage and starting families with the wrong partners.
“Many youth think they have all the time in the world to undo any damage, but what they don’t realize is that time, once lost, cannot be reclaimed. Engaging in mindless partying, spending hours on social media, or indulging in unhealthy habits can take a heavy toll on your future. It’s easy to waste your youth in the illusion of time and exploration,” Zulu added.
Furthermore, Zulu cautioned that the pursuit of immediate pleasure can cloud judgment and distract from more important personal development. He pointed out the necessity of emotional healing, maturity, and focus on building careers and cultivating healthy relationships that align with one’s values and future goals.
“Dating is not just about love or chemistry. If you’re not careful, you may find yourself selling your soul for something that will only leave you with a bowl of soup—temporary satisfaction that leads nowhere,” he warned.
In conclusion, Zulu encouraged young people to approach relationships with wisdom, patience, and self-awareness, instead of rushing into fleeting pleasures that may ultimately steal their destinies. “You have one life, and it’s a gift. Don’t let it slip away in pursuit of things that don’t serve your true purpose,” he urged.
The marriage coach’s passionate words have resonated deeply with many, as youth across the country reflect on their decisions and the broader implications of their relationships.  Read More

Kithure Kindiki Highlights Government Support for Tea Sector Amid Increased Production and Export Earnings

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki today commended the government’s efforts to bolster Kenya’s tea sector, announcing impressive growth in both production and export earnings as a result of strategic interventions aimed at supporting farmers and expanding international markets.
During a briefing meeting on tea reforms, attended by relevant government officials, leadership from concerned agencies, and other key stakeholders, Kindiki detailed the government’s initiatives to improve tea production, including the provision of subsidized fertilizer, establishment of common user facilities for value addition, and efforts to explore new markets for Kenyan tea.
“These strategic measures, coupled with favorable weather conditions and a stronger Kenyan shilling, have yielded remarkable results. Tea production in Kenya increased significantly from 445 million kilos in 2022 to 558 million kilos in 2023, and it is expected to reach 600 million kilos in 2024,” said Deputy President Kindiki.
The positive trend in tea production has been accompanied by a substantial rise in export earnings. “In 2022, Kenya earned 138 billion shillings from tea exports. By 2023, this figure had grown to 181 billion shillings, and in 2024, we are projecting earnings of 211 billion shillings,” Kindiki added.
The Deputy President emphasized the importance of these gains not only for the tea sector but also for the overall economy, as tea remains one of Kenya’s top export commodities. He assured stakeholders that the government will continue to work closely with the private sector to open up new export markets, which is expected to further strengthen Kenya’s position as a leading global tea exporter.
“Through these reforms and collaborations, we are not only securing the future of tea farming in Kenya but also creating new opportunities for economic growth and job creation. We are committed to ensuring that Kenyan tea remains competitive and continues to thrive in international markets,” said Kindiki.
The meeting also focused on proposed approaches for improving market access and addressing challenges faced by tea farmers. Deputy President Kindiki reiterated that the government will keep engaging with all stakeholders to ensure the sustainability and profitability of the tea industry for years to come.  Read More

St. Ann’s School Makadara Locks Out Student for Late Arrival

The administration of St. Anne’s School Makadara today locked out a student who arrived late for school, following the institution’s strict adherence to its attendance policy. The student, whose identity has been withheld, arrived several minutes after the scheduled school opening time, prompting the school’s security team to deny entry to the premises.
The decision has sparked a mixed reaction among students and parents. While some support the school’s efforts to enforce discipline and punctuality, others have raised concerns about the consequences of such strict policies, especially when unforeseen circumstances cause delays.
A school representative stated that the action was in line with the school’s rules, which emphasize the importance of discipline and time management. “Our students are expected to arrive on time to ensure smooth learning and to instill responsibility,” the representative explained.
The student was advised to return home and report back once they had rectified the issue. School officials are expected to review their policies to ensure fair enforcement.  Read More

Business Consultants Timothy Angwenyi & Justine Nyachieo Share Key Secrets to Building a Successful Business in Africa

Renowned business consultant Timothy Angwenyi and seasoned business mentor Justine Nyachieo have unveiled three crucial secrets for aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to start and grow successful businesses in Kenya and across Africa. Their insights come at a time when many are seeking financial independence through entrepreneurship but are often hindered by challenges such as a lack of education and the pervasive culture of seeking stable employment.
The experts’ shared vision highlights the hidden barriers to entrepreneurial success in Africa, and offers practical advice for overcoming these obstacles.
According to Timothy Angwenyi, the first reason most people struggle to build businesses in Africa is a cultural one. “In many African societies, there’s a heavy emphasis on pursuing conventional jobs, often at large companies, instead of nurturing the desire to create businesses. This mindset stifles entrepreneurial spirit from an early age,” he explains.
Angwenyi recalls his own journey, where his decision to fully venture into business after university was met with skepticism by his family. “Many believe it’s safer to work for established organizations rather than take the risk of building a business. The societal pressure to fit this mold can prevent many from realizing their entrepreneurial potential,” he adds.
The second challenge, as noted by Justine Nyachieo, is a focus on problems rather than solutions. “In Africa, we often focus on the issues facing our countries and communities. While it’s important to recognize challenges, the key to entrepreneurship lies in identifying opportunities within those challenges. Entrepreneurs do not complain; they see problems as opportunities to innovate and create solutions,” Nyachieo emphasizes.
He explains that many successful entrepreneurs have made fortunes by solving the very problems that others tend to complain about. “For example, if you can find solutions to everyday problems, you have a business idea. The more people face a particular issue, the greater the opportunity to create a solution that can generate revenue.”
However, Angwenyi and Nyachieo both agree that a significant barrier to entrepreneurship lies in the lack of proper business education. “Most Africans are not equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in business. We were raised in systems that emphasized formal education but neglected entrepreneurial education,” says Angwenyi.
He continues by saying that many people aspiring to start businesses in Africa tend to focus on obtaining capital or products, but lack the crucial knowledge about business processes, management, and growth strategies. “You cannot succeed as a business owner without understanding the fundamentals of business. You need to invest in learning—read business books, attend seminars, and seek out mentorship.”
Nyachieo echoes this point, adding that becoming a successful entrepreneur requires constant learning. “Nobody is born a business genius. I started with little knowledge but over the years, I acquired experience, learned from mistakes, and sought knowledge wherever I could. Today, I know more than I ever thought possible about business,” he says.
They both emphasize that learning must be a personal pursuit. “No one can force you to acquire business knowledge. You need to develop a passion for learning and associate pleasure with it. Whether it’s reading business magazines, books, or engaging in practical experiences, the more you learn, the more your confidence and ability to make decisions will grow,” Angwenyi advises.
Their partnership in launching a WhatsApp group, Profitable Business Ideas, is part of their ongoing effort to bridge the knowledge gap in African entrepreneurship. The group serves as a platform where individuals can access valuable insights, exchange ideas, and get guidance on building profitable businesses.
Angwenyi and Nyachieo conclude with a powerful message to aspiring entrepreneurs: “Do not be discouraged by your lack of knowledge today. Every successful entrepreneur started from zero, including some of Africa’s richest individuals. With determination, continuous learning, and a focus on finding solutions, you can create the business of your dreams.”
Their guidance offers hope and practical steps for aspiring entrepreneurs who are ready to overcome cultural, educational, and personal barriers to build successful businesses in Africa.  Read More

Kenya’s Blue Economy Set for Major Boost with Shimoni Fish Port Project

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to transforming Kenya’s economy through the expansion of the Blue Economy, a key pillar of the Kenya Kwanza Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). The Deputy President, alongside key government officials, recently visited the Shimoni Fish Port Project in Kwale County, a crucial initiative that is set to revolutionize the nation’s maritime sector.
The Shimoni Fish Port, a 2.6 billion Kenya Shillings investment, is expected to be completed by March 2025. The project will feature a modern jetty, fish landing site, a warehouse for a fish processing plant, cold storage and ice-making facilities, and a fish meal plant, among other amenities. The port will serve as a critical infrastructure to harness the full potential of Kenya’s Blue Economy, particularly in the fishing sector.
“The Shimoni Fish Port will play a pivotal role in creating jobs, boosting local livelihoods, and enhancing household incomes for the people of Kwale County and the surrounding coastal regions,” Deputy President Kindiki said during his visit. “This project aligns with the Kenya Kwanza government’s objective of revitalizing critical value chains, particularly in sectors that directly impact wealth creation and economic development.”
The Deputy President further noted that the project is part of the broader vision of expanding the contribution of the Blue Economy value chains to Kenya’s GDP, aiming to increase its contribution from 37 billion Kenya Shillings to 80 billion Kenya Shillings annually by 2026, and 150 billion Kenya Shillings by 2027.
Government leaders present at the site included Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, Ali Hassan Joho; Principal Secretary for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Betsy Njagi; Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui; and Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director, Captain William Ruto. Local leaders, including Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, Msambweni MP Faisal Bader, and Lunga Lunga MP Chiforomodo Mangale Munga, were also in attendance.
The government has also committed to empowering the local fishing community through grants to enable fisherfolk to purchase modern deep-sea fishing boats and equipment. This is in a bid to ensure optimal exploitation of the nation’s rich marine resources.
“We are investing in the future of Kenya’s fishing industry. By equipping our fisherfolk with the necessary tools, we will ensure sustainable practices that will enhance productivity and increase the sector’s contribution to the economy,” Deputy President Kindiki added.
The Shimoni Fish Port Project is expected to significantly contribute to the realization of the government’s ambitious vision for the Blue Economy, while also fostering the development of the coastal region.
Once completed, the port will transform Shimoni into a strategic maritime hub, creating economic opportunities and improving the quality of life for residents of Kwale and surrounding counties. The Deputy President underscored the government’s commitment to seeing the project through to timely completion, enabling its commissioning as scheduled.
The event marked a significant step towards revitalizing Kenya’s Blue Economy, with the Shimoni Fish Port poised to become a cornerstone of the nation’s economic growth and development.
