The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened the inter-institution transfer window for students placed in the 2025/2026 academic cycle. According to a circular dated July 11, 2025, signed by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, the online transfer portal will remain open from July 14, 2025, to August 24, 2025.

This development comes after KUCCPS successfully concluded the placement process and published the official placement report on July 1, 2025. The transfer window offers students a chance to change either their programme or institution of placement in line with KUCCPS guidelines and procedures.

Step-by-Step Process for Inter-Institution Transfers

The inter-institution transfer involves a structured process:

1. Student Initiation: The student logs into the KUCCPS portal and initiates the online transfer request to the receiving institution.
2. Receiving Institution Endorsement: The chosen institution reviews and endorses the transfer through its portal upon accepting the student.
3. Releasing Institution Approval: The institution where the student was initially placed releases them through the institutional portal.
4. KUCCPS Approval: KUCCPS then reviews the fully endorsed application and issues an official transfer letter.
5. Student Presentation: The student downloads the approved transfer letter and submits it to the new institution to receive admission and joining instructions.
6. Transfer Report: Both the releasing and receiving institutions obtain a transfer report through their portals.
