Karatina University popularly known us (KARU) is a chartered government owned public University. The university is Situated 15km North off Karatina town. The university offers both undergraduate and post graduate courses. All the course offered at Karatina University are accredited by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services, KUCCPS. This institution started in 2007 as Mount Kenya Campus of Moi University. It had succeeded a Tea Training institute. In 2010 it became Karatina University College, a Constituent College of Moi University. Finally, in 2013, Karatina University was awarded a Charter.

Karatina University Intake and Admission Requirements

To undertake any degree course at Karatina University, one is required to have attained a KCSE mean grade of C+ and above with C+ English or Kiswahili. You will also need to have attained at least C+ in subjects related to your field of studies.

Admission at Karatina University happens each year. The main intake usually happens in September. The university carries out intakes in the months of January and May as well.
